Byblos
Byblos, is a Mediterranean city, 37 kilometers north of Beirut. It is one of the oldest cities in the world. It is also one of the rare sites that have continuously been inhabited since the 6th millennium B.C. The ruins of many successive civilization are found in Byblos and associated with the history and diffusion of the Phoenician Alphabet. Byblos is known as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today, Byblos is a modern and captivating city that retains its historical past. It remains one of Lebanon’s major tourist sites due to its rich history, scenic mountains and Mediterranean views. It was named the Best Arab Tourist City in 2013 and obtained the title as one of the Best Christmas Trees in the World by Wall Street Journal in 2014.
